Glastonbury to change venue for 2018?
Rumours of Glastonbury relocating for the 2018 year have emerged this week.
The festival takes a break every five years to help the land recover for the livestock at Worthy Farm, however Eavis has hinted that the next break year could instead be replaced with a change in venue.
Eavis said the festival would be the ‘same size as normal’ with the nearby Longleat Safari Park topping the list of possible locations.
Its thought that the move could be a trial for a permanent relocation following fears about a gas pipe that runs underneath the grounds of worthy farm.
“If everyone dances on it at the same time, it could break the pipe in theory. It’s becoming very, very tricky to have it here,” Eavis said.
Glastonbury Festival 2016 takes place at Worthy Farm with a host of acts already officially confirmed including Coldplay, Underworld and more.
