Glastonbury to change name in 2019
Glastonbury Festival is expected to go under a new name when it moves to its temporary location in 2019.
The planned move is to help the land at Glastonbury recover.
“The Glastonbury Festival team presents The Variety Bazaar,” founder Michael Eavis recently confirmed in a radio interview.
“That’s a good name don’t you think?”
He also confirmed the new location would be “half way to the Midlands from here… and there’s only one landowner. I’ve got 22 landowners where I am now. I just wonder whether the next generation will want to negotiate with so many people. It’s a very difficult job to hold it together.”
Meanwhile, Radiohead are the only confirmed act for Glastonbury Festival 2017. They will headline on the Friday night.
The Avalanches and Kris Kristofferson have also self-confirmed but no official announcements have been made to back these up yet.
